Canada Post employees have implemented a full-scale, national strike as of Nov. 15, 2024 at 12:01 a.m. and mail delivery will be impacted. You can visit
Canada Post’s website to learn more details.
Here are some steps you can take to make sure you don’t miss important reminders, and continue to make or receive payments.
Claims
If you have a claim, your adjuster will make arrangements with you to ensure you receive your payment in a timely manner.
Please check the expiry dates on your vehicle registration or driver’s licence and arrange to renew them on time to ensure your insurance coverage doesn’t lapse, or you’re not driving with an expired licence or insurance.
You can visit or phone any motor licence issuing office to renew these items or make payments.
You can also go to MySGI.ca to view your SGI documents, make payments, renew your vehicle registration and track auto claims. In MySGI or through a motor licence issuing office, you can choose email as your preferred communication method to receive renewal notices and other important notifications.
If you have any other questions, please contact us at 1-844-TLK-2SGI (1-844-855-2744).
If you have an SGI CANADA insurance policy (personal or commercial Auto Pak extension policy, home, business or farm), this information is for you.
Payment options
It’s important to continue to make payments on your insurance policy to maintain your coverage. If you normally send your payments directly to SGI CANADA by mail, here are some alternative payment methods.
- Use internet banking through your bank’s website or app, choosing SGI CANADA (in Saskatchewan), or SGI CANADA INS SERV (BC, AB, MB, ON) as the payee.
- Pay at your insurance broker’s office.
- Make an online payment through MySGI.ca or ePayment, depending on when your policy was issued. If you’re unsure, your broker can help.
- Call our Billing department directly at 1-800-667-8988.
Renewing your policy
You’ll likely be contacted by your insurance broker before your policy is due to renew – but it’s still a good idea to check the expiry date on your policy. If the expiry date is coming up, check in with your broker to make sure your insurance coverage remains current.
